THE GUIDEBOOK
Technical details
They contain a brief description of the firms, the tasting report on
their two selected wines and a mention of the other wines produced.
Tastings
They have been carried out blindly by the AIS Marche Tasting Panel,
coordinated by Giannetto Pergolotti and Enzo Torelli, following the
methodology and the wine testing card used by the Italian
Association of Sommeliers. It provides an assessment of each wine
together with a final score expressed in points out of 100. The panel
give a specific organoleptic analysis for each tasted wine and sug-
gest a dish to be combined with. There is also an indication con-
cerning: type, grapes, alcohol content and an indicative sale price
for each wine, which is declared by the producers themselves.
Excellences
The 'Woodpecker', symbol of The Marches Region,
which testifies the strong relationship with the territo-
ry, indicates excellence and it is assigned to the wines
that have achieved the maximum score and which
have also particularly impressed the Tasting Panel for
their qualitative aspect.
Piggybank
An interesting parameter for the consumer is the positive
quality/price ratio, which is indicated in the guidebook
with the symbol of a piggybank. This ratio is calculated
using a specific algorithm that takes into account the
price of the wine declared by the producer and the qual-
itative assessment resulting from the professional tastings. The data
obtained are further parameterized to the overall quality of the ana-
lyzed samples, making the result an actual mirror of the importance of
the regional production.
