Technical Details
They contain a brief description of the
firms, the tasting report on their two
selected wines and a mention of the
other wines produced.
Tastings
They have been carried out blindly by
the AIS Marche Tasting Panel, coordi-
nated by Giannetto Pergolotti and En-
zo Torelli, following the methodology
and the wine testing card used by the
Italian Association of Sommeliers. It
provides an assessment of each wine
together with a final score expressed in
points out of 100.
The panel give a specific organoleptic
analysis for each tasted wine and sug-
gest a dish to be combined with.
There is also an indication concerning:
type, grapes, alcohol content and an
indicative sale price for each wine,
which is declared by the producers
themselves.
English
Almost all texts of this guidebook have
an English translation in order to ma-
ke it useful to a larger number of users.
Excellences
The 'Woodpecker', sym-
bol of The Marches Re-
gion, which testifies the
strong relationship wi-
th the territory, indica-
tes excellence and it is
assigned to the wines that have achie-
ved the maximum score and which ha-
ve also particularly impressed the Ta-
sting Panel for their qualitative aspect.
Piggybank
An interesting parame-
ter for the consumer is
the positive quality/pri-
ce ratio, which is indica-
ted in the guidebook wi-
th the symbol of a pig-
gybank. This ratio is calculated using
a specific algorithm that takes into ac-
count the price of the wine declared by
the producer and the qualitative asses-
sment resulting from the professional
tastings. The data obtained are further
parameterized to the overall quality of
the analyzed samples, making the re-
sult an actual mirror of the importan-
ce of the regional production.
